We started the day at Holyhead Harbour. The guide says it's great for Divers and sea ducks during the winter so we weren't really surprised to find very little there at this time of year! We did however get our best views of Peregrine to date. We had the good fortune to see the raptor predate and eat it's prey! My limited experience would lead me to believe the bird was a juvenile or male (or both).
We moved on to South Stack RSPB and were lucky enough to see a couple of the recently returned Puffins. Other notable species were: Chough, Razorbill, Guillemot, Fulmar, Stonechat, Raven, Wheatear and Shag.
The next stop was Cemlyn Bay (National Trust). Here we saw our first House Martin of the year along with one of my favorite birds the Sandwich Tern! Other notable species were: Stonechat, White Wagtail, Turnstone, Swallow, Raven, Common Sandpiper and Red-breasted Merganser.
